MeshMarketer Social Media Plan

After working with Social Media (Web 2.0) and internet communities (since 1995), this is the best I can share with you in terms of having a map, guide or strategy to implement a sane Social Media Plan. There will be an accompanying video that goes with this, but I want to get this out there and see what kind of response I get.

This isn’t just something I have strung together. This is what I use for all of my clients for Social Media.

Again, I will be detailing how to work the plan soon. In the meantime, you may have questions about why this or why that, so feel free to ask in comments.

    Philip,

I’ve been doing article submission as well and am starting to see the real value of this.

I will update it and I will include press releases if you give me some things to test as to whether they should become a part of my plan.

In my original diagramming, Text/Status was a parallel component that ghosted everything else. I really did become convinced that it doesn’t belong with the Content. I forgot to say, “Thanks!” by the way since I really do appreciate the feedback. I’ll be sure to use your feedback in the video.

I actually did start with Text as a Content item but in my experience, Text doesn’t really fit as Content in the way that a link doesn’t fit as Content. Text becomes the reason to click on the link rather than the Content itself. In the same sense, I wouldn’t categorize the text in a Google Ad as Text. I hope that makes sense. If not, maybe the video will explain it better? :)

Great map. I see so many words about social media in the cloud, but not a lot of diagram ideas with flows. Bring on that video, I’d love to hear some details fleshed out.

I also use press releases and article submissions to spread the word. I would add “text” to “pictures, video and audio” at the top to accomodate this (text other than blog and website text).
