MANIFESTO

MANIFESTO?

When you hear the word “manifesto” it seems to conjure up images of the Unabomber or some whacko, but according to Random House (which always puzzled me as a name for a dictionary anyway), it means: a public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives, as one issued by a government, sovereign, or organization.

So, here are my intentions, opinions, objectives and motives as issued by a government (of my website), sovereign (in respect to all that no one has authority over me such as free speech and free enterprise) and organization (my DBA in the city of Lompoc, Santa Barbara County, California, is Mesh Marketer).

Intentions: Service, Service and More Service

All those who read my blog, use my advice, pay me for service shall be satisfied. There is no two ways about it. If they aren’t satisfied, I will give them their money back. If they are still not satisfied, I will ask them what I can do to make it up to them. My only insurance against dissatisfaction is to do a great job and that is my only reason for working for others instead of myself (which ends up involving others anyway unless you have figured that one out!).

Opinions: Haters Will Drop Dead

If you’re out to cause trouble, you need to understand something called KARMA. You may have seen this explained on “My Name Is Earl” but you haven’t heard it like this: It’s just not possible for you to do something bad and for it to not somehow manifest somewhere and in someway and probably in an impossibly unpredictable way it will come back and harm you. If we live in a universe that is closed (and we are trapped in time), then it’s just not possible for you to do a single thing without it affecting you. You will reap what you sow whether in a big way or small way. You can’t plant stinkweed and get Ferraris; you’ll get stinkweed fever!!

Objectives: Making Enough Without Greed To Do It

Some people will ONLY succeed if they are either proving to someone (or themselves) that they can do something. This is what happens in the fifth grade between students on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to go back and change conclusions and decisions and beliefs made (though it is possible and maybe not so easy but certainly doable–ask me how), BUT you don’t have to compete and neither do I. I can enjoy my job, my beach-side town, my wine country, my little patch of ground on this earth and so can you. My objective is to make enough (enough so that I have more than I need) and to do so without using greed as a guiding force, GPS, dashboard Jesus or compass to get what I want in life.

Motives: Peace

Everyone wants to rest in peace when they die. I want to also rest in peace when I go to sleep at night. I know what it’s like to stay up late at night worrying about things for which I have no control; I know it’s just plain stupid, exhausting and unhealthy to do so and yet I’ve done it at times anyway. Regardless, I may know things but these things can get in the way of having peace, spreading peace and enjoying peace. My motivation in life is to live such that peace is always present and that’s all.

Well, thanks for reading my manifesto. I think you should probably also read my mission statement:

On waves of possibility, communication and service intersect,
Making available and providing what people want by design,
In a way that fulfills what is requested, wanted and needed
Creating miracles, wisdom, humor, honor and love. And
Resulting in people empowered by growth and satisfaction.
